my check engine light came on. check engine light blinks 9 times. and the car idles from 750-1500 back and forth. what is wrong with my car?

if i remember right (which i doubt) 9 flashes has something to do with the fuel...but i'm not sure, all you have to do is look in a haynes manual and it will tell you what it is and how to fix it

i found a site that said it had to do with teh number 1 cylinder positon but i dont think that has anything to do with it
