Help with 1990 Civic
I recently downgraded from a 98 civic Ex coupe to a 1990 civic Dx hatchback. I like it alot. I'm not to familiar with the 1990 civics. With my 98 civic i wasn't into performance, i was pretty much a ricer. But now with this new car i would like a clean look and a nice engine on it. It's automatic right now, but looking foward to gettin an engine swap with a manual transmission. I was wondering what would be a good engine swap and what would be a good price range? My friend said that you could get a brand new engine from Advance autoparts and could go from there. I don't know anything about this gen reguarding body kits or whatever would make it look clean. I would like some feedback. I'm done bein a ricer, ha. Thanks

ok but for real .....ur not gonna find an engine at advance..lol ....but try jdmshit.com any of the b series motors would be best if money is ur issue i would try to get a b16a complete change over swap.....and then u would still need to convert ur car from an auto to manual ...and the prices are there for each swap ...also there are not too many body kits that are gonna give it a "nice clean look"
just for shits and giggles i asked the guy up at advance how much for one of those "new engines" when my gsr threw a rod bearing. all it is is a rebuilt motor and its just a block and head. no intake manifold, no distributor, no sensors, no nothing. and for the gsr it was like 2500. another 600 and you get the complete gsr change over. but the cool thing was that they have every honda motor in that book. you could even get an itr for the same price and they even had nsx motors in there.

well if its at stock hight u need to lower it get some skunk 2 coil overs (pretty cheap and they do the job) also DO NOT got to advance to get any part of ur motor if they can get it for u it will be about 200% more than u should be paying for it..
