Look for what is refered to as thread inserts. They work kind of like a helicoil but are threaded sleeves.

probably. remove the helicoil. these are not cheap kits though. I had another manufacturer of the same style sleeve but have misplaced the web address and name. I will try to locate it b/c I think it was a little cheaper.
