Halfshaft Removal Help!!!
thier are only 3 bolts(14mm) holding the halfshaft. Is the axel still on attached to it. If it is...it really doesnt matter. Make sure you have drained the tranny fluid because the fluid will spill out once you have taken the halfshaft off is you have tranny fluid in thier. Just grab the shaft and wiggle it loose. Not that hard to get out.
My problem is more towards the wheel... I pulled out the bolt that is at the bottom of the damper fork thing, and then the castle nut under the balljoint by the wheel, but I can't get that apart and don't know what else I need to do to get the halfshaft to come out.
ok. This is how you get the joint where the castle nut was.
Get a Hammer. Put the key in the ignition and turn it just enough so that the steering wheel can move freely. you can turn the hub with your hands. turn the Hub all the way so you can see the joint from the side when laying down.
Now look at the stud where the crown nut was attached to. Now look at the control arm it is attached to. You can see a little bump right beside the joint. You have to hit that bump with a hammer. VERY VERY HARD!!!! Sometimes it is a pain in the ass but you just have to keep hitting it. Remember dont just hit the control arm. Thier is a little bump where you are suppose to hit it. hit it about 10 times on one side then turn the hib and you will see the same bump on the other side. Keep hitting it till you see it pop up loose. Then take the hub right out of the joint.
You need to hit it HARD!!!
