Im trying to put a full h22a swap into a 92 accord. Everything has gone in fine thus far, except for one thing. That would be the transmission mount. Do I need to get a prelude mount? or an aftermarket one? the accord and the swap are both manuals. And does anyone have the mount I'll need? thanks in advance

 

i did this swap a while ago so im not 100 percent correct but i do believe you use all the accord mounts on the h22 motor/tranny. and the tranny i believe you have holes already there with no threads that the accord mount lines up to. i think you have to tap those holes and install the studs/bolts into it.

 

sounds cheaper than what i was thinking. good idea. if that dont work out, i've seen companies that make mounts for these swaps. good luck

 

had a friend do this swap said if you use the prelude trany use the prelude mount if accord use the accord mount but i'm not to sure just what i heard good luck

 

I had the jdm h22a swapped into my 95 accord ex, I used all of my mounts.
The h22a used the jdm h22 tranny too. It was just a problem of tilting the motor as it was being dropped in.

 

Use the stock Accord mount. You will need to tap the two holes on the prelude tranny and move two of the existing studs into the new holes and everything will line up and be smooth eggs.

I know this will work for a fact. Just in case you were wondering.

 

use the accord mount. put the driverside mount on first then drop the motor down some so u can slide the tranny mount on bolt it up and then jack motor back up to bolt it to the frame

 

Thanks guys, but do any of you know where I could get it tapped? I've called several places and none of em want to mess with it......wtf.

 

call a machine shop. if they dont do it, then they shouldnt be a machine shop. lol.

 

drill the hole that lines up to one where you accord mount should go, then tap it out put a bolt on it and call it a day
