Default H22a

hey, my friend is trying to find an H22a to put in his 93 prelude, and he was wondering if any H22 would fit into his car, bc he wants the h22a4 i think that puts out 220 instead of 190, if it does fit, does it require diff engine/trans mounts? any other info would help. thanks a lot.

the JDM type S puts out 220. just try to get one that is the same obd as the car is...everything should be the same to my knowledge.

yea, the h22a4 supposedly puts out 200 hp compared to the h22a1 with 190hp, but it is apparently no difference in hp unless you go into getting the jdm h22a, or the h22 type S as mike said...only big diff between h22a1 and h22a4 is one being closed deck and the other being open deck

thanks, so basically what im asking is if possible he would want to get the stonger motor, which is the later model, 97-01 i think, will it be a clean swap or will it need some mods, diff engine mounts, etc.?

nah man, the 97-01 motor is not stronger....his best bet is to get a jdm h22a for like 1200 bucks....1800 if he needs the whole swap.....as for the motor mounts, i think it depends on the engine he has now....because the h22 and h23 have the same block, the only difference is the h23 has a bigger stroke, so it would make sense if he has the h23 in there now that the mounts would be the same, but if he has the f22 motor in there, then i dont know...

yes he has the h23 stock motor, sorry about all this, JDM was implied for the type of motor he wants, he just shattered the block so he wanted something way better
