H22 in a 89 hatch
Is it possible without major modifications, ie cutting the body?
I was thinking, if I got an H to B series transmission adaptor plate, I might be able to use B series mounts and maybe make a new drivers side mount if I need to...
Has anybody tried it before?
Also, if I used a B series tranny, I would not need to use custom axles...

Why would you not want to put a b series tranny on h series motor. If you could get a b series which have the best gear ratio for acceleration, why would you not want to use that.

Re: H22 in a 89 hatch
Hasport does not make a mount kit for the h series in a ef chasis yet. Supposedly that is something they have been planning on putting out for sometime now but no luck yet. The mount kit and transmission used will play a factor in what kind or axles you will need. But you can most likely bet it will have to be a custom job.
As for the search on honda-tech you can search and find alot of good info about a person that is making the b series adapter plate. He ran a stock h22 in a hatch with a b series tranny a went something like 11.82 or something close to that. Also you can find people that have used the place racing mounts

Re: H22 in a 89 hatch
I was looking for mounts for the swap on hasport, and didnt see any, so I thought if I used the B series swap mounts on the transmission side, I would only need 1 mount on the drivers side, I dont know much about H series mounts, but how different is it from B and D series? Would I need to use a special mount on the drivers side aswell?

you have to cut out the driver head light for the alternator. you have to beat the firewall in 3to6 inches. i have done the swap once. it isn't streetable after that. i wouldn't do it if i were you. the money yopu would spend, you could build a b motor and be better off and get traction.
