Default gsr turbo lag

I have a jdm gsr with a full race turbo kit on it. Its set at 5 lbs of boost right now, when i spool it up it hauls ass, then the check engine light comes on and i lose a lot of horsepower. Im not sure why the check engine light comes on and why it cuts my hp down so much? If anyone knows it would help me out a lot thanks.

what fuel management are you using? if you just bolted it up than that could explain the prob. also if you don't have a map sensor check valve (some companies call it the "missing link") then get one. your map sensor might be reading boost, which hondas don't like, and the ecu puts the engine into safe mode.

I have a missing link to stop the car from reading boost, but i guess it might not be working right, i just put a new O2 sensor in so i don't think thats the prob. im running a fmu right now
