My friend has a 99 gsr integra he just recently upgraded his stock throttle body and intake manifold and now hes having trouble. When the car is idling it tends to drop or surge rpm's very close to zero and then back up to 1000 it does this whenever the car is idling. the guy who put it on for him said that it would do this for a while until it was broken in. just thought i would check and see if you all had any explanation for this because hes about to put the stock one back on and i dont want him to do that. thanks in advance.

I didn't know you broke in a tb? look for vac leaks. check if the tps is calibrated correctly. if it is then adjust your base idle.

That dude is stupid to tell you that you have to break in your TB. Did he put a TB gasket back on?

im gonna check took it to a shop i think they f'd up.

the problem has gotten worse white smoke is no longer there it is black now and my friends is going through a ton of gas i mean a lot. please help this is a real problem. if anyone wants to come take a look at it i could throw 20 bucks if its somethings easy to fix thanks a lot.

Did he plug the map and tps sensor back? What exactly did he do?

a shop did the install and its all f'd up putting the stock one back on now ill have someone who knows what there doing do it when we decide to put it back on thanks for the help. if you still have any ideas let me know so we can use them when it goes back on thanks.
