i have a 94 gsr 4dr teg and just yesterday i came across a alil problem. never have a problem wit this motor at all. only thing installed to the motor is dc sport headers, full thermal exhaust, ingen short ram and that sums it up. my car hits vtec at 4500rpm and 6000 rpms. the car has never been ragged and is well maintaned. JUST YESTERDAY I WENT TO HIT VTEC AND IT HIT EXTREMLY LOUD AT 4500RPMS AND NEVER HIT AT ALL AT 6000RPMS AT ALL. DIDNT HEAR IT NOR FEEL A DIFFERENCE.


i pulled slam over to check oil and it was good, im bout 700 miles till my next oil change. oil looked good but just a tad low. i put a drop of mobile one in her and took it back on the road and tried it again. just my luck it didnt pop at all at 6000rpms.



my concerns is somehow someway my motor either has a oil presure drop or might be this massive change in weather. it was bout 60degress the other day then it the temp goes to high 80s..... im not sure and just seeing if u guys have any suggestions. THANKS FELLOW VADRIVENERS!!!!!!

It sounds to me like VTEC is working fine and that the secondary runners on the intake manifold aren't opening at 5800RPM or whenever they open (it's right around that point). The secondary runners opening usually aren't very noticeable though, so they might be working fine too... Hard to tell without some diagnosis.

This. Though, there is no 2nd stage of vtec, which was previously stated. Get yourself a p73 ECU with a jumper harness and you can thank me later
