Gauge Cluster Lights Not Working
Now, I know most people would see this and say its the fuse but its not because 1. I checked it already and 2. my seat belt light, gas light etc. work the only that on the cluster that dosen't is the lights for the tach, mph, temp, and gas (when I turn my lights on at night, nothing lights up to see my speed and so on.
Has any one had a similar experience that could help me out, my only alternative is that indiglo gauges because they have their own lighting just need 12v but would rather stay stock.
My car is a 98 integra ls
Thanks for any info,
Thomas

Re: Gauge Cluster Lights Not Working
You've most likely just blown out either one or two bulbs in the cluster. There are usually light pipes (look it up, I'm not explaining) that distribute light around the gauges from a single bulb or a couple of bulbs. If a bulb blows, you can lose a lot of light around both gauges. Your warning lights have their own light sources, and aren't connected the same way as the illumination lights, so chances are that you have a wiring problem if the gauge illumination lights are actually OK.

Okay, i should have included this in the original post but I was really tired, and just remembered.
I don't think it's the bulbs, because when I engage the alarm system the lights will blink twice when locking. so if the bulbs were out they wouldn't be able to do this

Re: Gauge Cluster Lights Not Working
Hmm. Well, whatever the alarm does to flash the lights (I'm assuming it supplies power, because the stock ground is fixed), the dash isn't doing the same thing. So if the alarm can flash the dash lights, that means that the dash lights obviously aren't getting power from where they normally would. Find the reason why, and you've solved the problem. The alarm has just saved you a lot of troubleshooting time and effort.
