foggy headlights
i was just wondering if anyone knows how to make your headlights more clear instead of the plastic looking "foggy" or dirty. of course i have washed them, but that didnt work. can you use really fine sandpaper? anyway it is a really quick questiion so mods please delete it after a day if theres an answer.

Re: foggy headlights
Meguire's PlastiX
The foggyness is most likely from a leak, but if you are talking about the yellowing and dirt on the headlights PlastiX is great. I usually start off with a lubricant and a really fine steel wool [not recommended, just what i have] then apply a compound such as Turtle wax [again just what I have] lastly a layer of PlastiX. OR you could buff it with Metal Polish.. or if your too lazy to buy a can, toothpaste. |
Re: foggy headlights
Goto advance auto and tell them you want the CV HEADLIGHT RESTORER. Its in a chrome pouch its gonna run you about 20 bucks. But is works great.

Re: foggy headlights
get you a clean rag and some power steering fluid. Put a little on the rag and wipe the headlights. Take another and wipe the rest off. Do it all the time at work.

Re: foggy headlights
On mine, I wet-sanded them with a 3m compound(which one, I don't remember) and then buffed them at 1000 rpms with the same 3m compound.
They came out REALLY good. |
