i was just wondering if anyone knows how to make your headlights more clear instead of the plastic looking "foggy" or dirty. of course i have washed them, but that didnt work. can you use really fine sandpaper? anyway it is a really quick questiion so mods please delete it after a day if theres an answer.

The foggyness is most likely from a leak, but if you are talking about the yellowing and dirt on the headlights PlastiX is great. I usually start off with a lubricant and a really fine steel wool [not recommended, just what i have] then apply a compound such as Turtle wax [again just what I have] lastly a layer of PlastiX. OR you could buff it with Metal Polish.. or if your too lazy to buy a can, toothpaste.

Goto advance auto and tell them you want the CV HEADLIGHT RESTORER. Its in a chrome pouch its gonna run you about 20 bucks. But is works great.

get you a clean rag and some power steering fluid. Put a little on the rag and wipe the headlights. Take another and wipe the rest off. Do it all the time at work.

That does pretty much the same thing as chemical-based (non-abrasive) plastic polishes, like the Novvus #2. You're slightly dissolved the plastic and flowing it back to its original state, and moisturizing the dry outer layer. I wouldn't want the missing moisture replaced with steering fluid though..

On mine, I wet-sanded them with a 3m compound(which one, I don't remember) and then buffed them at 1000 rpms with the same 3m compound.

They came out REALLY good.

theres a package int eh auto body section of auto zone that has some buff pads and a little wheel to attach em too. buff w/ drill and 5 minutes later your balln again.
