Some how the tube came out with the dip stick like nothing was securing it in. I'm wondering what is supposed to secure it in a gasket? RTV? I'm really lost here because the haynes manual tells you to remove it but never tells you how to reinstall. 02 ford focus se

usually to install it i would put a block of wood on top of the dip stick tube and gently hammer in back into the block/pan mad take a few hammer blows but it will go in there thats what worked for me may not work for you

doesnt the end of your dip stick tube have a lip around it with or without a plastic seal . as long as it has that lip then u jsut find the hole and beat it in like the guy stated above. held in with pressure . alot of ford are that way. a big clue is does the dip stick tube have a mounting bracket to it if it does then it norm mounts to the block some where if not the use the method stated above.

Some have a rubber o-ring that goes on the end of the tube. Call Ford.

Went up to ford today the guys like it has nothing except a dip stick tube. O yea it is supposed to have a bracket but ill worry about that if i can ever get the tube on. I think that its missing a peice. I know hondas have those little things on the block that help you like up the head and i feel like one of those would work perfectly right now...but like i said the dude at ford was like nothing just tap in
