Engine harness help

Hey, i have a 2000 Civic ex with a d16z6 in it.

it has the wrong engine harness so the engine light stays on and i think its running rich

Im trying to find the best engine harness for it but idk what to look for

or if there is something wrong because it used to be obd2 now its obd1, i think thats why the CEL is on

If someone could give me a link or something that would be great.

thanks

Re: Engine harness help

What ECU is it, and what engine is the harness from?

Re: Engine harness help

you should always use the harness from the car your putting the engine in, and its probably throwing a code for the crank fluctuation sensor thats mounted on the oil pump cover of the stock engine, but dont exist on the z6 engine. not to mention the fact that having that engine in your car is technically illegal in va since the law states that any engines must be the same year as, or newer than the car they are going into. but then again, unless you live where they smog test and stuff, you dont have to worry bout that lol.

Re: Engine harness help

Crank fluctuation sensor is only a problem if the ECU is OBD2 obviously. Not enough information yet.

Re: Engine harness help

ECU is in the passenger kick panel, there is a bar code sticker on one edge of it. The ECU code is part of a longer part number.

Post in this thread instead of PM'ing, then more people can help.

Re: Engine harness help

Like fabrik8 said, post the ecu code in the thread. How do you know the engine harness is wrong? Have you tried pulling the codes? If so, what codes did it give you? Not knocking your intelligence but if you're not sure how to pull them here's how.
