Default Electronic Oil Pressure

I was wondering if anyone had some answers that I'm looking for. For electronic oil pressure gauges, the sender that comes with the gauge replaces the original sender, correct? My oil pressure light on the dashboard comes on very faintly and new electronic oil pressure gauge is not as "responsive" as a mechanical would. Is this normal?

if this is an autometer guage, then NO, the sender unit that comes with the kit does not replace your stock sender unit, you need to get some steel braided line, a brass or stainless 2 way t and put the t into the block, the stock sender unit in the t, the stainless wire in the t and run that to the sender unit, and then run your wire from the sender unit to the guage...........

I was thinking I would need a T, but wasn't certain. Thanks for the advice, you're a big help!

no problem, do not , i repeat do not, stick the sender unit into the t and then in the block, DO NOT DO THAT, the sender unit as you know is pretty heavy, it will break the threads on the t when your car bounces around and it will break off inside your block and if your lucky enough you can get the thread out with an easy out tool, but listen to me dont put it in the t, get some steel braided line from hampton rubber, about 8-10 inches on it and run that from the t to the sender unit, they use the proper fittings and its guaranteed forever and then just mount the unit somewhere above the inlet for the block so the oil will drain back in to the block, trust me on this one, the line is like 32 bucks, i had it made and its nice and doesnt leak.......

the new sender doesn't have any mounts though. How did you mount yours to the block?

i didnt mount it to the block i took 2 hose clamps, and wrapped it around the under side where the support bracket is for the intake manifold, itll go around that and around the wire harness bracket and then just tighten it down and run your wire..........yours might be different but either use hose clamps or maybe those rubber straps that come with inline fuel pumps and wrap it around something........mines secure and has stayed that way........
