Default e brake light coming on

i was driving home (93 del sol si)
and i was at a stop light, and my e brake light came on.
and it stayed on for a min, and when i saw that it came on i stopped at a gas station to turn the car off and turn it back on to see if it would go away but it didnt, so i head home and it turns off and then i turn onto my road and it comes back on and no the e brake isnt up or anything. i took up my center consol and checked if the sensor was unplugged or loose and its fine any other ideas?

PlasticHero is an unknown quantity at this point

Check the level of brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir, it may be low. This will also cause the light to come on.

Side note to that....brake fluid doesn't just disappear. Before just dumping new fluid in make sure you don't have a leak (very unlikely without you knowing about it) or the much more likely case, your brakes are old as fuck and need to be replaced, and you might s well flush the fluid while you're at it versus just topping it off.

Or his brake fluid has moisture in it and it has flashed a time or two.

Im willing to bet the kid probably needs brakes regardless given his posts..probably been driving the piss out of the car for a year or two and given them no second thought, could be wrong..but knowing this board...I' thinking it's a safe guess.
