Duel Point Problems
Was up
Ok, heres my problem. Im in a 1989 civic 4-door with an original motor(d15b7) in it. When i go into first gear and press on the gas, it does a violent jerk from about 1000rpms to adout 3000rpms. It countinues to do this through 2nd and 3rd gear, but not as violently. It only does it every now and then but I just want to fix it until i save up for a swap for it. What do i do?
Thanks

Re: Duel Point Problems
dual point...thats your problem right there is it revving up while your driving, like u hit the gas and let off and it keeps accelerating? If so sounds like it is just worn out or the manifold needs to be cleaned out

Re: Duel Point Problems
Its not accelerating, just that jerk thing. Lets put it this way it acts like it doesnt want to get any gas but it only does it every now and then

Re: Duel Point Problems
Try another distributor. Could have a bad coil. My old car did the exact same thing til the coil finally went out all the way, replaced it and problem solve. So, I would first try the dizzy and see what happens. Borrow one that is on a running car first before buying a new one, just incase that is not the problem.
