I have a 1st gen dsm bov and need it crushed. It likes to leak boost at full throttle and stay open at idle. I'm on the peninsula.

 

its still going to leak at idle. the only thing that crushing it is going to do is make it not open up until around 20+ psi

 

i was going to say that. crushing only makes it better for more psi. not fixing an existing problem.

 

Anybody have a link that explains this subject. I have heard of evo guys switching from the stock plastic one, to the 1g, but I can't figure out the crushing thing. It just sounds wierd to buy a new part and then "crush" it to make it perform better.

 

you can buy crushed ones from places. if im not mistaken www.machv.com....or not. i know someone sells them. may have them. i remember one of my dsm parts sites atleast. had them. and as far as the info on them try looking at www.vfaq.com

not a problem. on my '95 gst instead of having mine crushed. or buying a crushed one. i sold my 1g bov and got a greddy type-s. cause im a ricer at heart. haha.

 

so it wont fix the boost leak problem either? When I go full throttle it opens prematurely and the car stutters and runs like crap. The 4g61t guys said that i need to crush it in order for it to stop making my car studder.

 

nah, if you are venting it you should rerout it back into your intake. that will fix it
