Ease of use and familiarity. It's all just software, so if one package has more features or is easier to use/navigate, and you're already familiar with it, then that's a good choice. As far as tuning, they can both get the job done.

You are over simplifying it a bit. Some tuning software might have a better map resolution, quicker data processing ect ect... No idea as far as these two examples are concerned as I've only dealt with s300. They both may in fact get the job done, but one may get it done with a higher level of precision.

Ultimately they can all tune stock ECUs, some are more convenient and user friendly than others, like I said. Extra bells and whistles are extra bells and whistles, and usually help the tuner much more than the tune.I work for an ECU manufacturer, and that being said, I appreciate and understand what you're trying to say.
