i just purchased a 1994 civic ex with a zc swap and it will crank but wont start. it has new distributor new wires new fuel pump new ignition switch. if i keep cranking it , it starts to smell alot like gas but i checked for spark and i have it, any info will help

Check to make sure. If you do not know the firing order google it and you will find a lot of pictures.

I'm going to put two and two together and say that fuel is OK.


Because it's a swap, I always suspect wiring first and foremost. Anybody can do a Honda engine swap, and anybody can just as easily fuck up the wiring because they have no clue what they're doing. I don't really know anything about the specifics of ZC swaps (never felt the need) but I would start checking everything between the engine and the ECU.

take the fuel line off and turn the key on real quick if gas goes everywhere your getting gas.

make sure its gettin spark and correct firing order... if its got fuel and fire... then no compression. could try squirting oil in each cylinder.
