Default cooling fan problems

ight i need help, my cooling fan will not stay on...a couple of days ago it overheated on me(its never done this before) so we get it home and figure out that it is the sensor on the motor right behind where the radiator hose comes out of the motor. so we go buy a new one and we put it in and it doesnt work at first...then we took it out and put it back in and it worked...untill we backed it out and started going down the road....so far we've done this for hours and we cant figure out what the hell is wrong,i mean it will come on in the garage and as soon as we get going down the street it shuts off...any sugestions?

isn't there a relay that controls the fan as well as the sensor? i'd look into that or possibly the fan itself.

the fan is good...i jumped it out and it worked and ive checked everyfucking fuse and relay and they are all good, i think it is the plug that plugs into the sensor....either that or the thermistat(sp?)

sometimes the relays stick. is there any corrosion on the plug? if it was the therostat, when the car overheats one hose will super hot and pressurized and the onther will be room temp.

Not all fans run continuously, mine doesnt. Yours runs in the garage because there is no air flowing through the radiator to lower the temp of your coolant, but when you are moving the air cools temp. If your fan is connected to a temp sensor then it cuts on and off depending on temp. but then again u didnt specify if the car began to run hot when began to drive it
