A Civic has an electronic speedo vice a cable? That I didn't know. I'd just try junkyards I suppose for 2000 Civics and pay the $20 or so to pull it off.

hmmmm, i wonder if a speed sensor off of a cable trans would fit that one.
the problem you will have is the wiring part of it. what ecu and cluster are you using? also, what conversion kit did you use for the hydro swap in there?

any 92-00 civic speedo sensor will work and if u have an 00 b16 trans it prolly already has a speed sensor in it u just need to run the wires. but it all depends, just like sucka306 said, on what ecu and cluster u r using

i've got a hydro tranny in my ef that originally used a electronic VSS. i just unbolted it and used the cable version from my car.

you just can't "switch" the speedo cable. an ef cluster runs off a cable driven sensor. you would need to get a cluster that used a electronic VSS in the first place to run it the way your shop is telling you to run it.

si cluster being an si ef cluster?

if so, then i believe yes would be the answer. i am using my cable sensor with a p28 ecu which didn't use cable driven speed sensors.

i'm not betting the house on it so you may trying searching other forums like hondatech

i assume the ls ecu is from a 97 like the engine, if so the 97's had an electric speedo. i assume the si cluster is from an ef, if so then the cluster needs a cable speedo to work. if my assumptions are correct then u will need to get a electric speedo cluster or hook a cable driven speedo up to your tranny, just like b16 snatch said
