Default compression test adapter stuck in spark plug socket

hi i was doing a compression test with one of my friends gauges and didnt realize that there was an adapter so the adapter is screwed into where the spark plug is supposed to go. anyone know how i can get it out? tried long needle nose pliers but they didnt fit on the side. also tried using a screwdriver and feed it along the sides but that also did not work. can anyone help me?? what do i need to do?

Post pics of the gauge. I have an idea depending on how the gauge is built

Also post up what kinda engine it's stuck in (Or are we assuming it's the 1998 Accord you have listed as your username?)

The retrieval method might be different if it's in a deep tube or on the side of the cylinder head.

Is the adapter 100% metal or did it have a rubber tube part of it?
Is the adapter broken at all, or did it just come apart from the gauge?

Maybe try some thread locking solution. put a couple of drops on the threads of the tester then screw it back in. Give it a little while then try turning it back out.
