Default cold air intake question

sorry if this is in the wrong section... I was wondering if i snaked my intake piping out to the front bumper and had the filter sitting like in the front bumper area in front of the radiator.. as seen in the pic.. if it would run horribly in the rain or a light mist.. just a question to all you car gurus

like in the pic im talking about the space right below and behind the front tag

I know APC made an intake that mounted like a FMIC. IMO that would increase the chance of sucking up water and soaking the filter. I mean I imagine you can't really hydrolock your engine unless the filter is completely submerged under water, but I see more cons than pros in doing what you're trying to do.

If you make the intake pipe too long with lots of bends you tend to loose its efficency.

it wasn't apc, it was Aerospeed.

It would be a great idea, but again with the hydro locking issue. Put it all the way down to where your resonator is on the front tire ( I don't know nissans but honda's had them on the right side)

Plenty of protection and cold air there.
