you say you didnt have clutch fluid?
did you bleed the system properly? but thay wouldnt explain you being able to put it into gear without pressing the clutch.
umm, have you done any recent work to your clutch/tranny/linkage/anything related?

i never bled it i was just driving and it started so i got some brake fluid in it b/c i was told it was fine...no but theres a stage 2 clutch in it and the linkage is really loose like theres alot of play
What's clutch fluid?? Is that another word for MTF? (Manual Transmission Fluid)
Anyhow...if you had no trans fluid in, and these problems occurred then u most likely damaged ur trans.
Also would help to post the year car and motor/trans.
I had a customer bring me a car someone else worked on and he had a cable trans...did the similar problem and it was because his clutch cable was installed too tight...
If its a hydro trans and this happened them u most like damaged it. DON'T put brake fluid in your trans...WTF?
Use a conventional oil..like exxon,or an oil "made" by your local parts store. Make sure its 10w 40 NON SYNTHETIC...try that and if that doesn't work pm and I can probably help u out.
