Clutch acting a fool
So I've been having problems with my clutch recently. It all started maybe 3 weeks ago when it started getting cold. I would push the clutch in and it would stay halfway down, wouldn't slip and would fully engage/disengage. I order a new clutch line and that seemed to fix it. Now however, it started a new problem. While pushing the clutch in I'm getting a whine noise..no smoke except when it happened for the first time. If I hold the clutch in for to long, the car will stall. Shifting while driving it seems fine. It seems to only be happening coming from a stop.
I'm thinking it may be the slave/master and I haven't changed the fluid in a bit so I'll start there. It shouldn't be the clutch itself seeing how I never drop the clutch or drive like a douche canoe.
Thanks for your time.

There may be two separate problems here. The whine is probably the throwout bearing, and the smoke is someth losing pressure and releasing the clutch a little.

And the clutch line was a red herring. Replacing the line meant that you had to bleed the system, which is what actually caused the temporary improvement.

Re: Clutch acting a fool
So the Z is at Nissan, here's what happened:
I was waiting to merge with traffic, car was in N
-Clutch in, shifted into 1st.....car died
Clutch pedal is up and can be pushed in, but when it does there is a squeaking noise and the car tries to come back, but wont catch.
-There was no clutch smell
-The tow guy said when he was under the car hooking it up he noticed a fluid leak.
Now Nissan is telling me that I need clutch/flywheel/slave...but they haven't even opened it up yet, but is quoting me $2100.
I'm thinking of telling them to own replace the slave and go from there.
