I've t a 95 civic ex with a d16z6. there is a clicking under the dash whilei try to start it. anyone know what it could be?

Are you able to start the car? Only things that are down there that can create those clicking sounds is a relay.... Hard to tell from you really short description....

main relay...honda is known for that problem...its a broken solder point on the relay ,,you can replace it or fix it yourself.

The main relay doesn't click, they are known for having this problem, but you would not hear a clicking noise when you try and start the car.

Like stated before, are you able to start the car or not? If you are not able to start the car it could be your starter, that is if your battery isnt dead from you cranking on it. Also it could just be the simple fact that your battery is dead and doesnt have enough power to crank the starter.

Also have a buddy crank the car while you have the hood popped to make shure it is coming from under the dash and not the engine bay.

thanks for the imput. i'm guessing its the battery because the starter is trying but nothings happening, i'm goin to try another battery tomorrow

is your exhaust connected completely???

they ground thru the exhaust system....if you have an exhaust leak it wont let the car start...

emissions related stuff...check that
