I can put it in for you, if you have an 88-90 it will need a daughterboard, if it's a 91 then it won't, and is very straightforward.. I make daughterboards for those, it used to be damn near impossible to chip 88-90s.. What the Ebay guy should have said is "if you don't have a 90 1/2 or 91 PM6, don't bother to bid". But I can chip them all.. =)
PM me to discuss this more..

Re: chipping a crx
since there is a post on this topic. how reliable is it to buy a "power chip" or "engineer spec" chip on ebay, and install it in your car. like are there ill effects, or is it pretty much 5-15 hp for 20 bucks and an install???

That's a huge blanket generalization.. They might work great. They might not. The problem is that you just don't know. That's the chance you take. You may get a program that isn't even for your engine, you never know. Depends on the honesty of the seller. Just like everything on Ebay, it's all about trust and faith. That's one of the main reasons I don't use Ebay, but that's just my two cents..
I'm just an installer, and I have some programs too. I don't make any HP claims, because it's impossible to predict and I don't have a dyno or do tuning..
