when i turn the key the starter turns the motor but it doesnt turn over

its has a new distributor cap and main relay
I can smell fuel....so i know im getting fuel or at least i think
i pulled the #1 wire and get a spark every 4 or so revolutions
all the grounds are good except for the tranny to chassis

did you check compression?

 

yeah compression is fine....or as fine as its ever been on this motor

 

if it is capable of running then i can get it to run. has the car/motor been sitting for any length of time?

im having the same problem...but i went to drive off from a stop light and the car cut off...i thought i stalled out, but i didnt...and i tried to start it back up, and the starter is kicking the motor over, but nothing is makign it start...
i jumped it, i checked the fuses, i smell gas, there is gas in the oil, and it just wont start...

 

Do you see a check engine light with the ignition on? Double check the fuses under the hood. Try unplugging your map sensor and try starting it.

Would you be willing to do a JDM D15B swap? I almost have all the parts but I don't have the resources to do it myself!

 

of course i can....why kinda car do you have anyway? i can still get the old motor running
