Default car not starting

Back to tech talk for my wonderful car again. So I try to start my car annnd it makes one sharp whining noise but doesn't turn over and then nothing else. I drove my car earlier so that confuses me even more. I ca try and jump it with my pos truck if anyone can clarify to me if plus and minus are the same on all batteries because mine isn't marked.

And duane if you read this, get a louder phone hahaha

Thanks all

can you go to a local auto zone , advance auto parts, something like that for a free alternator test?
a good alternator will run at about 14 volts

Tried backing out of my driveway and the thing stalled out 5 feet later, went to restart it and it wouldn't run if I didn't keep it above 2k rpm.

it may be a bit of work but if you can get a ride to a local autozone take your alternator off and have them test it

That whining sound, definitely sounds like the starter is not engaging just spinning. I would have your battery tested since you probably drained it from spinning the starter many times and verify the alt is charging the battery.
