Default car computer

OK so I was thinking about getting a double din touchscrean in my dash and then mounting a smallish laptop on a fabricated mount like under the seat or in the glove box. I figure this way I could have access to my whole media library, microsoft street and trips for gps, and anything else the lap top could do. Can you guys think of any drawbacks, or reasones why this would not work?

um, its illegal to have a computer/video monitor in the view of the driver?

I know there is a rule (somebody posted earlier this week about receiving a bogus ticket for a data logger) but you're gonna have to fight that in court, and the policeman will probably win.

by a garmin, get some e-manage, call it a day.

I have a zenarc 700tsv (7" (2)ntsc (1) vga inputs) in my car. I have seen the liliput and the video quality is slightly less. For my use its just an MP3 player.
