Re: Camshaft Suggestions
There are alot of factors going into a cam choice. What kind of idle do you want? What rpms are you wanting your power to be at? There are ALOT better camshafts out now then the old Ford Racing cams (B303, E303, etc.).

heres the cam i ordered :
Trick flow Track heat Cam :
RPM range : 2,500 - 6,000 rpm, 224/232 duration,542/563 lift.
that might be a little too aggressive for your motor..as i am building a Turbo 347..but you might want to go a step down with this one :
RPM range : 2,000 rpm - 5,500 rpm,221/225 duration,499/510 lift.

Re: Camshaft Suggestions
Yeah, the core components are still stock, I've been debating over whether to try and build the stock motor, or to just buy a crate motor. It seems to me that the crate would be cheaper in the long run, and be more reliable.

if i were you..i would order a crate motor...i mean everyone likes to "build it themselves" but nowadays..its about cost effectiveness..and time..a lot of people are trying to get ready for Ford fun weekend..and a lot of other events..so they order a motor built to their custom spec.
i Ordered a 347 Dominator from CHP racing in california..the short block itself is 3100 dollars..along with a Main cap girdle, and a Windage Tray.
i mean, you dont necessarily have to order something of that nature..but im building a Drag Car only..so i have to make sure im getting everything custom made, and top notch so i can compete with some of the big boys, along with have my motor last.
Pm me if you have any questions about short block assemblies, long blocks, crate motors, and the companies that make most of them.
