Default Cam Gear Gains??

hmm the other day i talked to a guy on honda-tech and he said he saw a 5-10 horsepower gain on one of his ls engines with stock cams. stock internals , basic-bolts ons and a custom made intake.......i dunt know a WHOLE lot about cam gear gains, but on stock cams....this sounds a lil false

Cam gears can help move the powerband around alot. Decent gains can also be made on poorly designed cams.

yeah, and be sure to use a dyno or g-tech to help you dial-in. seriously, though, the biggest gains are from bigger cams AND cam gears.

Default Cam gears

Even with the stock cams, you can find that adjustable gears can give you gains of up to 10 HP. Not only from the light weight of the gears but being able to chenge the timing of the valve throught the intake and exhaust stroke. You can also find that you can change overlap in the same manor, that is if you have DOHC.
