Default A/C problems

Recently I had a hole in my one of my a/c lines. I replaced it and recharged the system. It has good pressure(45lbs) and the clutch engaged and compressor kicked on. When this happened the pressure went to 0lbs. When I turn the a/c off it has the 45lbs again. I let it sit over night to test the pressure to see if it was leaking... its the same 45lbs. But when ac is on its 0lbs. any thoughts? The air blows but just feels like outside air. It was working before the hole in the line. Someone solved a similar problem? This is a 1998 acura integra RS. Thanks in advanced

How much did it take on a recharge? should be taking 3 to up to 5 cans. When running-you should be at least 20-30 psi. Lots of hand held gauges are not reliable and need to be bumped to engage the schrader pin. Fill it with the compressor jumped on and AC in high and fan on high until your high limit switch is engaged....then release 5 PSI

Well today i filled it ALOT, the Low side was reading like 90psi. It started to blow cool. Im just guessing the gauge is fucking stupid because I would fill the line for like 10 seconds and it would read 45psi. The compressor kicks on and I think I just needs to filled up some more. It blew cool air so i guess its working good. Im located in Elizabeth City NC. Also my buddy hooked me up with a new accumulator/drier. Installed that as well.

The gauge is reading high at first-because your pressure is high-the pressure local to your fill line...then the compressor kick on and circulates/pressurizes and an equalization is reached, that is why you are supposed to jump the compressor and have the clutch engaged the whole time during the filling process.
