boosted b20 questions
i got my hands on some b20 parts i got the block crank and head so far... i got a few questions....
what internals should i run if i want to run 10-15lbs daily?
wheres the best place to get a good (decently priced) tune in the SOVA areas?
what ecu and dizzy do i need to run this set up?

ME: This will depend on a power goal and what turbo is used, not a psi goal. For example, a little T-25 is gonna yield a lot less power at 15 psi than a big GT-42R will. Choose a power goal and a turbo to match that goal within its efficiency range. As a point of reference, B20's will handle on the average of 275 to 300 whp on stock internals, granted your motor is healthy compression and leakdown wise, and you have a good tuner. If you have the block already apart and want to shoot for more power, any reputable piston & rod company will suffice, with upgraded ARP bolt hardware (head & block). Crower is a personal favorite of mine, for LS and B20 head & valvetrain hardware. Let us know how much power you're shooting for, and the purpose of the car.

thanks again for the info....
also i the head is from a b20z and the block is a b20b so i need te dizzy and ecu from the b20z right> or will the b20b dizzy and ecu work?

u can seasily run stock internals on a b20 boosted w/10-12 psi just daily it on low boost..the main thing people do that demolish's b20's is they dont vent the block and it builds crank case pressure due to it not having any ventilation for the bottom end...loads of tq will come from that motor so it will be a blast to drive!!!

I would not run more than 10lbs on a b20 block reguardless of internals. the b20 block has the weakest cylinder walls of any b series motor. if you are looking for 200hp that should be no problem to achive, I have a friend running a stock b20b with a gsr head and 9lbs with a t3 makin right around 290 just to give you an idea..

I know I sound like a broken record when I keep saying this, but here it is...Psi in most cases is irrelevant. Different turbos make different power at the same pressure level, hence my example in my above post. Psi is simply the level of pressure measured at the intake manifold & MAP sensor. Even though his goal is only 200 whp, it still may take more than 10 psi to actually make 200 whp with that little T25, depending on how efficient his setup is. It's not like he has a T3/T67.
OP...discuss your goal with your tuner, and he will use whatever psi your setup will give him to make that goal. Or sell your turbo, & get you a nice T3/T04E 50 trim & shoot for 250-275. Remember...torque, high cylinder pressures & detonation is what blows motors, not psi. Good tuning & a healthy motor is the is key to a long lasting setup.
