Default boost problem

Ok quick and simple. Yesterday my pipe from the intercooler came off on the interstate it just came loose from the intercooler but didn’t fall off all together. My car was acting slow and wasn’t building boost, at the time I figured that was it but wasn’t sure, I drove it slowly home "about 10 mins" not allowing it to build boost. I hooked the tube back up and tightning the rest of them. And made sure nothing else was wrong and drove it again to make sure everything was up to par... I had my car set for 11psi and now looking at my boost gauge in the car it just keeps building boost when I hammer it. I haven’t tried to take it any farther then about 16psi, it looks like it will keep going but the car pops at 5 1/2,6 grand as if is running rich and backfires and I quit trying to take it any farther... Any ideas why its doing that and any quick fix. I have a cheap boost gauge and it’s just a turn to lower or higher it. Could it have come loose or is something screwed up??? Tanks for the assistance

What is the set-up? It sounds like the wastegate vacuum line came off.....

My immediate thought exactly. Check that, even if its still intact, inspect it for any cracks.

TAke the manual boost controller off (if you have one) Run it off just the wastegate spring. See what it does.

quick update,
No cracks in the vacuum lines or any missing, However i did notice my fuel pressure was at almost 70 psi which would explain the popping, i droped it back down to 45, and my manifold is cracked really bad so looks like i need to buy a new one. As far as taking the manual boost controller off i am hoping its broke because its a POS anyways and the boost is just running off the waste gate spring. Any thing i need to do that i have not mention? or any other sugestions?

Having a cracked manifold can contribute to boost creep as well.

spoolin performance is the #1 choice in my opinion they make very good turbo manifolds. alot of people use obx but ive heard nothing but bad things about them cracking.

What's your price range and I'll then give you a definition of good.
