best overall turbo for 03 subaru impreza wrx
alright im kind of new to subarus and turbos but i have been doing my homework i know i will need bigger injectors fuel pump ect..... but right now i am wondering what the best turbo would be for my 03 wrx i want a turbo with more power than the TD-04 but i dont want to gain to much lag i dont need crazy hp like 400+ i just wanna make somwhere over like 315. So if anyone has any info on a balanced turbo with good spool time and good power output please let me know thanks!

Look up NASIOC and run through some of their turbo information threads. Really good information on there, you just have to find it.

UNLESS you have money, just upgrade to a OEM STI turbo. This is your best bet with a 03, your transmission will poop within a couple months depending on driving if you go with those monster turbo's mentioned above.
My dd is a stage 2 03 wrx, its fun as hell annd I can pass other cars when needed. Look into stage 2.. UNLESS you have $ and want a race car daily lol
For your desired hp range, get a accessport. Reason I say this is because cobb has maps for like 5 different turbos for the 02-03 wrx's, so you could just flash one of these base maps for the turbo you run.
All in all you'll need the accessport
turbo back
bigger fuel pump
Go ahead and get a bigger uppipe because your model has the cat in it, dont gut your oem incase you need it for emissions.
Along with a sti turbo, get the sti injectors & intercooler too.
Flash the map, ready to go!
Edit: please do not change your intake.
Also if you dont want to dish out $500 for a accessport, I have the v1 acccessport for 02-03 models which is really hard to find. I will be returning my car to stock in spring and can sell you this for $125, along with my turboback, fuel pump, uel header, inlet hose & lots other parts lol just send me a pm if interested.
Thanks

i already have a stage 2 cobb map and i know i have to change injectors intercooler and other things but i dont wanna spend a ton of money on a turbo but i have an 05 tranny in my car and its got like 13000 miles so it should hold up well i might just go with a ported and polished VF34 since i hear they spool quicker and still put out almost as much power as a VF39
