Default bad gasmilage and dont know why?

im running a b16a2 with a EG intake mani and matching throtle body, DC sport headers, and exhaust. other then that the motor is stock i am running a stock P30 ecu. the car sucks down gas like a mofo, it smokes a little bit at high rpms but im not sure why...any help would be great, thanks.

Any codes? What do you mean "EG intake mani"? Are you talking about the stock B16 manifold?

Replace you pcv. That usually will help a little on gas milage. And how bad is your gas milage? It's not going to be that great to begin with.

oh, knock sensor, theres your problem. a bad knock sensor can mess with timing, which in your case is your fuel consumption. replace it.

on a full take (about 11 gals) i have used about 3/4 of a tank and gone maybe 100 miles

Wow. I get 28 mpg with my Knock Sensor out. And I get in on my car everyday, and I have minus/plus a couple of mods done.

Have you done any maitence on it lately? Like a Tuneup? Tires inflated? what grade of gas are you using?


I run BP 93 Octane. Never had a problem. Maybe its your intake mani. I know you used to have a b20vtec, what cams and valvetrain setup are you running?

knock sensor, change that shiat. you've probably experienced loss of power too.

fouled plugs, leaky injector, bad O2 sensor, clogged fuel filter, are all places to investigate but, take care of the knock sensor first.
