Question B20 questions

Thanks to suggestion, I am going to try for a B20 in a '93 hatch. I plan to build all the internals, hopefully before I even drop it in, SO do I even need a running engine? Most things are getting replaced anyway..

Also, what tranny?? I would assume LS?

Could I also get some background on a B20 and some opinions here. Just as far as raw statistics I figure a B20 would be good for N/A hatch. Thanks.

You will Need the B20 block, VTEC Head (Type R recomm), CR-V timming belt, Vtec oil pump, Vtec water pump,CTR Rods,CTR pistons, Type R manifold, Vtec ECU, and Vtec controler.
And then you will have a beast

If you are going N/A you dont want to use a LS tranny.

why does he need all that to put a b20 in his car...........unless your doing a b20/vtec you dont need all that, if your gonna build the motor before putting it in the car, use aftermarket internals, not stock shit and unless you plan on revving high and building the head there isnt really any reason to upgrade anything, unless of course you do plan on boosting or higher revving, the b20 is a fun motor in the right car...........but if you buy a comlete swap that bitch will drop right in your car and youll have some fun.........

b20's have bigger bore, ctr pistons won't fit, but they will fit in a b18, same bore, longer stroke

a good running motor is a better platform than a blown one due to stock parts, the entegrity of the stock crank and bearings are good, replacing these components are easier when an engine is in good shape. such as bearing color codes, taper of the stock bore, and line bore of the block. because a crvtec will last longer if things are well balanced and within spec!! they run like hell when properly built! great street motors!!
