B16A VTEC Hits Hella Weak
I just got a 88 CRX today with a B16A (I'm thinking 2nd Gen how can I tell between first and second gen) I know it's not a A2. Every time I hit VTEC it hits like a D15, I know B16's are supposed to hit hard cause of the dual cam, how come it's hitting like a little baby? The guy told me it has a P28 ECU I haven't checked due to work but I will tomorrow. Why is my VTEC hitting like a baby kitten?

First if all, you have the wrong ECU unless it's been chipped for that engine. Second, look at a dyno plot for a stock B16 and the difference in power when VTEC engages. Then decide if you're surprised at the behavior.

To the op, I had a GSR, B16 sir and sir 2 & a ls/vtec
The b16s are really good when built or boosted. Otherwise I would stay away from them.
If you stay all motor build the head and get cams and a good tune or keep it stock and boost it.
My LS/VTEC was my favorite next to the GSR. However since yours is in a CRX you can make a well balanced
car with good weight to power ratio.
