Default B16 swap question

i searched HT with no info found and i know if i post a theard asking this question it'd get locked, so i'll ask here

i bought a B16b from a member here saturday and need to know what i need to swap this motor in. i already have a B18a in my 90 civic and did my research for what i need to swap in a B16a but ended up buying a B16b. i want to use the cable transmission that came with the B18a, but from there i'm not too sure if the process is the same regarding the swap. i had planned on keeping the B16 obd0 and using a PR3 ecu, but the person i bought it from advised me to convert it to obd1 and use a GrS ecu...so i need a little help with this swap

if your gonna convert to obd1 get a p28. Swapping in a b16b is the same as b16a, and if you use the cable trans you have to use the clutch that came with it. All 90-93 integra clutches will work. Any other questions just pm me.

p28 ... i saw one on here with hondata s100, the redline should be higher with b16b .. . you can use a stock ecu, but i would get something chipped for higher revs..

i don't plan on revving that high

but another obstical i ran into was using my LS transmission...was told it's not the best for this engine, but lack of $$$ owns me

ordered my ecu conversion harness and hope to have a P28 ecu today or tomorrow...now i have an OBD0 and an OBD2 distributor...

yea ls has long gears, you would probly like it better if you had a shorter geared tranny for the b16, unless u plan to boost it which would be pointless on a b16b

not true. 90-91 are different than 92-93. different spline count.

ive never had a short geared tranny, but i have a ls tranny on my b18c swap and it feels fine to me. it still feels like i go throught the gears pretty quick.

b16 or gsr tranny would definitely optimize the performance of your drivetrain. If you can't swing that now, that should be your next mod.
