Any advice for a 4g63 head reinstall
i just got the cometic headgasket, got the arp head studs,
going to pick up the head tomorrow, i know what to look for in that,
however ive never messed with these kind of motors before, ive done n/a talons, and probes, but not 4g63's
let me know if you have and what to look out for

torque head in the usual in to out diagonal order. with arp headstuds i usually torque 20, then 40, then 60 then final 85.
make sure the dowel pins on the cams are facing up before you bolt it down. and you are supposed to have both the head and the block decked in order to use a multi layer steel (MLS) gasket like cometic.

When i did mine i did the same as above. Then ran the motor at a stand still for 5 minutes. Turned it off. Then went back in. Took the bolts out and redid the procedure. That was on my 2g.
Edit: make sure... "MAKE SURE" you resurface the deck and head before putting it all back together.

Re: Any advice for a 4g63 head reinstall
put the new head on and timed it and all that perfectly,
put everything back on and stuff, tried to start it and herd a familar boom of the
combustion for about 1/2 a second and then just the turning of the engine with no fire,
got my compression tool out and only got 120 on the number three cylinder, and 0 on the other ones, anyway not sure if the valves are bad or if i did something else wrong

both the pins on the cams are up and the crank is at top dead, so i dont think its 180 out, unless the cam shaft sensor can go out like that
