Another dumb question from corbzin.
Which is the better oil for a turbo car? Everyone keeps telling me royal purple isn't worth the money and that mobil 1 will make the car perform better.
Which is the better to get I'm trying to do this car right and don't want to cut any corners.

I used to run Royal Purple. After approximately 2k the oil would turn black as night. I run Amsoil now. Stick with Mobil 1 if this is your DD/cruise vehicle.

FYI oil changing color isn't a representation of it's performance etc. That said I've heard bad things about RP but mostly from muscle car guys that run flat tappet lifters.
I run Mobil 1 in all my street cars and Amsoil in my track cars.

Mobil 1 for daily driver, Amsoil for race or one you don't drive much since it's much more expensive. You can get the jugs of Mobile 1 at Wal-mart on the cheap, check the mobile 1 web site for promo rebates and stuff, don't rely on the shelf pull-off to be there when offered.

I run (and have ran for 3+ years) advance auto 20w50 oil in a stock piston/rod 600+whp car with zero issues. Granted it doesnt serve as a daily driver, and hasnt for a few years.... but I have probably put 10,000 miles on it with that "cheap" oil. take it for what it is.

Royal Purple "has been proven to produce 5hp" when you use their oil. That being said, its not worth the money besides Mobile 1 is good stuff and cheaper!
