bullshit the type R will be no different. the shit only weighs 12 lbs. it will make a noticable difference. however i've used a clutchmasters 10lb in my single cam for probably half a year now w/ zero problems. so i can definitely vouch for them. as long as you get a flywheel from a reputable company and not one of those cheap ass ebay knock offs you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Get an aftermarket chromoly flywheel like ACT, Jun, Toda, etc.. They don't have the same warping problems that the alum ones do. The steel friction face of the alum ones does a poor job of transferring heat to the rest of the flywheel supposedly, which is why there is so many uneven heating and warping problems. Chromo flywheels don't have this problem, and are supposedly stronger too.. I'm pretty impressed with the price and quality of the ACT Streetlite and Prolite flywheels, they look like about the best value on the market that I've seen so far. I've been researching this for the WRX recently...

the zex flywheel is a good flywheel except for nitrous use (ironically enough lol). there is so little to the actual zex flywheel that it cant take the sudden burst of power transferred to it under nitrous use (i've heard of a few shattering), but i've heard good things about them for all motor applications.
