Do a leak down or compression test since it still cranks. Your description is super vague so it makes it very difficult to actually diagnose anything other than your complete disregard for sentence structure.

So when was the last time you checked the oil? It sounds like it completely lost all/most of the oil in a very short time, is that what you're saying? If that's the case, it has to be a major oil leak somewhere, because if it was simply burning that much oil you'd notice heavy smoke from the exhaust (and probably a very oily exhaust system). I guess my first thought is whether it actually was completely missing all of the oil, and whether you just put 3 quarts of oil in for no reason... The knocking could be from a lot of things, but I'd focus first on where the oil is going. Look for leaks around the oil pan and things like a loose oil filter, etc. At this point the engine is probably trashed from being driven without any oil, and anything that can make an engine knock that loudly is never a good sign. You might have broken an oil pump, or something like that. Most things like a broken con rod or dropped valve would cause a big drop in power and very rough running (besides the knocking).
