95 honda civic warm up noises?? normal??
Hey guys, I have a pretty loud ticking noise that lasts until it warms up, just wanted to make sure its normal sounds. I have a 1995 honda civic w/160K miles on her. Also is there a decent/reliable place on the peninsula that deals with honda tune-ups, I'd like to have someone take a look at it to make sure everything is in proper working order since I don't know the vehicle's maintenance history!
thanks for you help!

I'm changing it this weekend, however, its only been 2,700 miles since last change. I'm pretty good about keeping up with easy normal maintenance items. Never have done a valve adjustment though, I'd probably fuck it up. It's my daily driver so I just want to make sure she lasts a few more years!
thanks for the help.

Call up Custom Car Care if you need someone to look at it. They're Honda specialists and really great to deal with. I'm guessing if it's got 160k on it, and it's ticking that bad, the valves may have never been adjusted at all.
Have you checked your oil level at all? If the ticking is that bad, but goes away, you may just need more oil.

what kind of oil filter are you using? fram oil filters are horrible for starving the engine of oil during start up.. have heard it causing a ticking sound during start-up
