Default 93 Del Sol Rev Problem!!!

Hey Guys,
Lookin for any help i can get on this.

When you turn the car on it turns a rev limiter on and u flip the key back and turn back on and it clears it and drives fine.

Now I originally thought thay it may be a Vacuum Line, but if it were that it would been there after the car was turned on. Now I am thinking that it has something to do with a sensor.

It does have a b16 swap on it if that makes a difference.
Help Please!!!

Thanks a lot.

I think what he is trying to say is...when he starts the engine it runs. When he tries to step on the gas instead of it reving up to rev limiter, he hits the limp mode limiter which should be 3000 - 3500 rpms.

If what I am saying is correct, then you ARE throwing a code/codes and before anyone can help you, you need to find out what they are. There are only a few things that will throw you into limp mode and they are all electrical.

limp mode wont do anything to an engine, its there to PREVENT damage to an engine.Limp mode is the computers way of running in "safe" mode,it basically sees a problem (hence a faulty sensor,mis-fire leading to a thrown code, faulty wiring, etc) and prevents the motor from reving past 3500. Like said,if your computer is running in limp mode, your going to be throwing a code. Find out what code your throwing and we can go from there. if you need to know how to check and get the code,PM me.

Maybe it's one of the sensors and whebn powered, it warms up it works?
Once again, I really need to know what code you are throwing to help.

If the "Check Engine" light is on...99.99% chance there's going to be a code. You have to jumper it out to get the code to show via the check engine light.
