When the truck is cold it won't shift into overdrive while on the highway. The truck shifts fine, but won't shift into overdrive when cold. Any help is apprecciated.

 

Cold as in the weather or cold as in the engine. Mine used to do the same exact thing on startup when the engine was cold but when it heated up it would shift into overdrive. And then especially on cold days it would do this but like I said, once it heated up it would shift fine.

 

my mom's camry does that. when it's cold outside and I don't warm the car up and hop on the interstate, it sits at around 4k for a good mile.

 

It does this when the weather is cold or when the engine is cold. Also when you hit 70 mph the overdrive will go on and off.

 

Check the level of your transmission fluid. That's always the first thing to do.
