i have a 1991 honda civic dx 1.5 and have been having some issues with it running. the car seems to have a mis fire or back fire. it runs rough when i put it in gear, but the car seems to idle just about fine in park with a slight noise which might be a miss. when i drive its a consistant put-put, lack of power and is hard to accelerate, and i have gone almost a half of tank of gas but only 55 miles. i have replaced fuel filter, plugs, wires, had a exhaust leak fixed that, cap and rotor button, and the injectors. if any onecan help thanks

do compression check. might also have a bad cat

be sur your firing order is correct, and you dizzy is in timing, then check your spark plugs and check and see if there is oil on the spark points, if so get new plus r clean them very well

O2 sensor is another thing to look at replacing

no codes showing and the plugs were clean i can try and do a compression check thanks for the help any other ideas just been struggling

my 4runner has the same problem. I have replaced all kinds of things (because they needed to be replaced) and it still runs like ass and get horrible gas mileage. turns out the timing was off 2 teeth....

or just go ahead and put a new timing belt and water pump on. unless it was just done, and that would explain why the timing is off (assuming it is)

Today, I noticed when I unplug the number 1 plug there is no difference in the way the car idol. When I unplug the number 2 plug the car cuts off. When I unplug the 3 and 4 plug the car runs rough each time. Could that be a problem?

When I loosen the bolts to the distributor to adjust it there is no difference in the cars idol or way it sounds when i move it.
